The option of anonymity

Having the option of, like, anonymity [...] would be important because [...] some people might not want to go to, like, a [...] meeting or a group about something like that, if they don’t want to, like, publicly out themselves. Um, but that can be a very isolating experience.[...] Having the option of anonymity [...], even something like what we’re doing today, like, just being listed under names like Participant 1, Participant 2, like, no identifying information, but still the chance to speak about our experiences and ask our questions and stuff like that. [...] I, for one, wouldn’t be [...] as willing to take part in this study if this wasn’t the way that [pause] that things were. So, I feel like the anonymity is – is helpful here in my case, anyway, and – and could be the difference between someone getting the resources they need [...] or not.

Recommendations

  • Use an app or other tool that allows students to anonymously ask questions about sexual violence and university policies against sexual violence.
