They might be drunk and remember what happened, and sometimes, they might be unsure. Especially, the girl or guy in this case, sometimes they might be unsure whether they were actually assaulted and in some cases, it could only be the guy and girl in the room, and there was no proof, you know? In the morning, you will realize something could have happened, but they are not sure, and they cannot take any charges or anything unless they are positive that a sexual act was done.

Use an app or other tool that allows students to anonymously ask questions about sexual violence and university policies against sexual violence.

Emphasize the victim's right to decide whether they would like to report the incident after they have disclosed it to the university. Ensure the victim is aware of the formal and informal routes for reporting, including the option of reporting to the police. Clearly communicate any limits to confidentiality.

Provide students with information about what can serve as evidence of sexual assault for the purposes of a university investigation. This information should appear in the policy itself and in educational materials about the policy.

Ensure educational materials and initiatives explore relationships between sexual violence and drugs/alcohol. These materials should be mindful of pressures to over-consume and the fact that some international students are unfamiliar with drinking culture. Ensure and/or highlight the fact that no student who discloses or reports sexual assault will be penalized for substance use related to the incident in question.
