If you were to file with the police
So if you were to file only to the police, does that mean you can’t file to the school, or can you do both at the same time? I was also kind of wondering, let’s say the police - 'cause often they’re like, "there’s not enough evidence" and they won’t go through with it, and it doesn’t really get anywhere- so does that mean the school won't process it if the police have already decided that they can’t do much about it?
Recommendations
-
Deliver accessible education about Canadian sexual assault laws, including how they work, and the ways they tend to fail survivors in practice.
-
Provide students with information about what can serve as evidence of sexual assault for the purposes of a university investigation. This information should appear in the policy itself and in educational materials about the policy.
