Be able to not judge people
I believe that they [a person supporting a survivor] should definitely just have empathy first and foremost. But I also believe they should be able to be really understanding. I don't know if the word "open-minded" is what I’m really looking for, but just really be able to, like, not judge people. To kind of step out of their own head, their own thoughts, like, their own beliefs, and just be able to understand where the victim is coming from.
