Allowing time while communicating any time constraints

Allow victim/survivors to share their experiences and seek support when they are ready. Offer information about time limits for reporting when applicable.

While we do not recommend placing a “statute of limitations” on reporting sexual assault. However we understand that universities are unable to investigate reports of sexual violence once the respondent is no longer part of the university community. This is an example of a time constraint that students who disclose or report should be made aware of.
