Communicating about consequences

Describe possible legal and institutional consequences for respondents found to have engaged in sexual violence. Provide indication of the range of consequences likely to follow a range of policy violations.

Participants often asked what kinds of consequences might follow a finding that a respondent has committed SV/SA. Participants also wondered how decisions are made about the consequences that will follow a given incident. Providing insight in this area would help students to have a sense of how their SV/SA policy is likely to work in response to any incident the student might consider disclosing or reporting.
