Help with medical services and go lodge the complaint
If it was a friend of mine [who disclosed that she was sexually assaulted], I would first check if she is was affected physically or mentally and act accordingly. Maybe I'll help her with some medical services and I would go and lodge the assault complaint because bringing them more into this [the reporting process] will cause them more disturbance.

Emphasize the victim's right to decide whether they would like to report the incident after they have disclosed it to the university. Ensure the victim is aware of the formal and informal routes for reporting, including the option of reporting to the police. Clearly communicate any limits to confidentiality.
