For example, look at MSVU Health Services. [They close at] 5:00 pm. The person will have to wait until Monday [laughter]. If you look at the cases that happened on campus, they were after these hours. They were all at night [...], way past the hour of 5:00 pm. So, there is not much that those students could have done except wait until Monday, and by that point, you are -. I mean, as someone who has gone through it, you are so stuck in mind traps that by that point; you have convinced yourself that it is your fault and there is no point to reporting.

Recommendations

  • Promote SANE nurses as supporters for victims/survivors. Ideally, this would happen in the context of a formal partnership with SANE nurses, which includes 24/7 availability of SANE nurse services on campus.
