Indian Female

You are free to speak to your mom or your sister

It [sexual assault] is a kind of a thing where you are much free to speak about it either to your mom or your sister, but not really to the entire family, you know what I mean? [...] And also to your friends, there is a kind of gender bias again. You cannot really [laughs] speak about it to everyone

Recommendations

  • When responding to a disclosure or report of sexual violence, provide students with the choice to work with someone who shares their gender identity or someone who does not. This applies to the victim/survivor or complainant and respondent.
