Andrea Sanchez is originally from Mexico, but has been living in Halifax for 3 years. She is currently doing her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Saint Mary’s University. In the future, she plans to do counselling and possibly some work in forensic psychology.
Her role in the CAPSAP project was as Research Assistant in charge of the South American Female group. Some of her responsibilities were recruiting participants that felt identified with this particular group, conduct a focus group to explore the Sexual Violence Policy on campus, and finalize with transcribing the focus group discussion into a word-document.
This project has helped Andrea understand the importance of Sexual Violence Awareness and how much work still has to be done on this topic. Though it can be controversial, it is necessary.
