Brooke VanTassel is a second year B.Ed student at MSVU with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology and Women’s Studies. She held a research assistantship during CAPSAP Phase 1, completing transcription and data analysis. In fall of 2019, she completed a Directed Study for academic credit under the direction of KelleyAnne Malinen. The course consisted of producing a report for Mount Saint Vincent University about Phase 1 findings. Brooke presented this report at the January 2020 CAPSAP Consultation and Information session, which she scheduled and organized.
Brooke has worked as CAPSAP project coordinator since early 2020 completing administrative work, Phase two data analysis and Phase 3 workshop development and facilitation. Now in Phase 4 of the project, Brooke is working as a research assistant and project coordinator, supporting data analysis and the development of the CAPSAP website. She is passionate about anti-racist education, black feminist values, supporting survivors of sexual violence and eliminating campus rape culture.
