Caryn Small Legs-Nagge

Co-researcher

Caryn Small Legs-Nagge is the Harassment and Discrimination Advisor at MSVU. She has been in this position since April 2019. Before joining MSVU she worked with the Federal Government for 28 years. She has a Master of Social Work degree, Bachelor of Social Work degree and a certificate in Leadership Development and Conflict Resolution all from Dalhousie University.

Caryn has a passion for respectful and inclusive workplace development as well as education and awareness in the areas of sexualized violence, anti-oppression and anti-racism within the university environment.  She has delivered various workshops and presentations some of which include:

  • A trauma informed approach to sexualized violence on university campuses,
  • Sexual harassment- your rights, policy and the law
  •  Respectful workplace and difficult conversations
  • Duty to accommodate

She sits on the Sexual Violence Prevention Advisory Committee, Sexual Violence Prevention resource group, Harassment and Discrimination Committee, Accessibility Advisory Committee and the CAPSAP workshop committee. Caryn has been involved on the CAPSAP committee since Phase 2 - and most recently on a subcommittee where she will assist in the 2021 CAPSAP 3 day workshop.

She is a mother of 3 wonderful daughters and grandmother of 3 beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, she loves cycling, running, swimming and weight training, which she does with my amazing husband. They are both advocates of living a healthy lifestyle.
