Karen Kennedy MN, RN, is an Assistant Professor in Nursing at Cape Breton University. Karen worked as a researcher in phase 2 and phase 3 of the CAPSAP project. Karen has been an advocate for sexual assault services in Cape Breton since 2000. Her research interests include sexual violence, most recently sexual consent and cultural perspectives and university sexual violence policies.
In addition to her teaching and research role, she is a practicing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Karen is in her second year of Doctorate studies at Western University where is exploring implementation of sexual violence policies in Higher Education Institutions.
