Sylvia Chanda Kalindi obtained her PhD degree in Developmental Psychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, in Hong Kong SAR. During the CAPSAP pilot phase, she facilitated FGDs among female university students of African descent to understand their views on matters of sexual assault. As the project rolls onto phase 3, Sylvia has also sat on the CAPSAP training committee to design training material for participants.
Her research interests include issues surrounding the education of learners of African descent, language and literacy development, as well as parental support in child development. Sylvia has published in journals such as Reading Research Quarterly and Frontiers in Psychology and contributed to volumes such as The Cambridge Handbook of the International Psychology of Women.
