Hello from Cape Breton Island, this is Tracy Phan, originally from Danang, Viet Nam. She is a recent MBA graduate of Cape Breton University (CBU) in Community Economic Development. With her previous jobs and volunteer experience related to social data and community empowered projects, Tracy realized her passion for community development.
As a research assistant for Culture & Perspective on Sexual Assault Policy (CAPSAP) project at CBU, she is responsible for recruiting, organizing, and facilitating group discussions for female students from East Asia. Through this project, not only did Tracy learn to handle the data confidentially, but she also learned a great deal about the myths on the social issues, such as trauma and sexual violence.
