Men will make fun of you
When the situation comes, what type of friend you ask for suggestions is always important. One time, I told a male friend about a kind of situation, I guess the male friend did not really respect females. I guess they really don't 100% understand what you're feeling deep in your heart - the shame experienced by girls, and everything. [...] I wouldn’t say a bad friend. It's just, naturally, they feel like, um, men are not generally - men are not victims, and they will make fun of you. They might think because you got this kind of harassment because you dressed to sexy for the clubs, or something. They will come out with these things. So when you are giving suggestions, or when you are giving a response, respect is the most important thing.

When responding to a disclosure or report of sexual violence, provide students with the choice to work with someone who shares their gender identity or someone who does not. This applies to the victim/survivor or complainant and respondent.
-
Ensure all sexual violence prevention and response education and training opportunities actively deconstruct victim-blaming, rape myths and gender norms. Ensure these sessions take an intersectional approach to understanding sexual violence and supporting victim/survivors.
