Representation definitely matters
Participant 1: I also think they should have more people of colour available to help someone. A woman or guy of colour might not feel comfortable going to someone that wouldn't understand them [...]. So, I find there should be more people of colour within these [power/supporter positions]. When I had my seminar [about the SA policy], there were no black people- everyone that was teaching us was white.
Facilitator: Yeah, for sure. Representation definitely matters.

Create an inter-university and college roster of peer supporters and educators that includes international and domestic student leaders across genders.

When responding to a disclosure or report of sexual violence involving racially or ethnically marginalized students, provide these students with the choice to work with someone who shares their cultural or racial identity or someone who does not.
