Me may have different backgrounds, but we feel the same

Actually, I did Psychology in nursing. I mean that was 20 years ago, but it's - every women feels the same. We may physically have different cultural backgrounds, but when it comes to sexual harassment, we have - we feel the same. [...] The way sexual assault is treated In Nigeria is different. In my culture - we actually grew up in the Middle East - it's different. In the west - In Canada, it's different.

Recommendations

  • Use approaches that are trauma informed and survivor-centred.

  • Consider how a student's identities might affect their expectations and concerns when accessing supports following a sexual assault, or when involved in a sexual assault investigation.
