Patience is important

I think patience is important because, as we all stated before, people might not want to report immediately - the same way they might not want to talk about the experience they have had immediately. So you can’t rush them. You have to give them their time and their space.

Recommendations

  • Provide long-term support to victims/survivors through university services and/or through referals to external community-based agencies.

  • Allow victim/survivors to share their experiences and seek support when they are ready. Offer information about time limits for reporting when applicable.
