Professionals guide your thoughts

What I personally feel is when you talk about a sexual kind of problem to your friends, like close people, their first reaction would be very impulsive and they only think in an emotional point of view. So, rather than solving that problem, it could really make it worse; whereas professional help, they guide your thoughts to the solution rather than focusing on the problem. I think in that case, they are really helpful, and the people are very well certified here; they look at the person beyond the ethnicity and the origins. So that’s the good thing here.

Recommendations

  • Provide long-term support to victims/survivors through university services and/or through referals to external community-based agencies.

  • Provide detail and clarity about what happens, and who helps the students involved, at every stage of the process following a disclosure or report.
