Someone like their best friend

I think probably talking to someone close to them, like their best friend, or someone they often talk to, would help them to think about the case more; or it may help them reach out [...] more. If it was something that happened with me, I think, rather than talking to my parents, it would be more comfortable for me to talk to someone who makes me feel like I'm comfortable or that he is going to listen to me. So, it would be someone close to me like my friends, or someone in my close circle.

Recommendations

  • Present learning materials in a way that is helpful to a friend supporting a victim/survivor.

  • Make supports available to members of the university community who receive disclosures, or raise awareness of these supports within university communities where they already exist.
