The entire world has changed and our policy has not

[Since] 1990, the entire world has changed a our policy has not. Comparing it to even to other schools, like, Dalhousie and St. FX, like, their policies are quite expansive and cover a lot of things and they’re much more suited for the current climate of students in sexual violence on campuses. Recommendations

  • If no such statement exists, encourage development of an official statement prohibiting and clearly outlining consequences for retaliation against complainants. Highlight this statement in information and awareness materials and sessions.

  • Identify how long reports are kept on file and the process involved if/when responding to a report concerning a previously accused respondent.
