What’s the turnaround time?

What's the turnaround time for all of this? [...] We report, we talk to this one and that one, next year we talk to this one and that one, next month we stand in front of the board [...] I just want to know if it's going to take a long time or if it's, like, cool in 1-5 business days.

Recommendations

  • Within the policy and educational materials, provide information about possible timeframes for the completion of an investigation into a report of sexual assault. Deliver regular, scheduled updates on investigations to complainants and respondents. Such updates should be integrated into the policy.

  • Allow victim/survivors to share their experiences and seek support when they are ready. Offer information about time limits for reporting when applicable.

  • Offer fictionalized but representative examples of how disclosures and reports to the university have been handled.
